Dog licenses
Pennsylvania law requires a license for every dog three months of age or older. Buy a new license, renew for the year, or tell us a dog has died.
Every dog license expires 31 December, whatever month you bought it. Renew by 1 January.

The reduced rate applies if you are 65 or older, or a person with a disability. If you are 65 or older you tell us your age when you apply. If you are claiming on grounds of disability you upload the qualifying form, and our office checks it before asking you to pay.
Paying by eCheck is free. Card payments carry a convenience fee, which is shown to you in full before you pay.
You can add an optional donation at checkout. It is separate from the license fee and is always shown as its own amount.
How to apply
- Sign in with your emailWe email you a one-time passcode. If you have licensed a dog with us before, use the address we already have so we can find your household. Every dog in your household appears together, and you can renew them all in one payment.
- Tell us about your dogYour dog's details, and — for a lifetime license — the permanent identification.
- Certify and payYou confirm the details are correct and sign electronically. A lifetime license is checked by our office before we ask you to pay.
- Your license is preparedYou get a receipt straight away. The license and tag are prepared and posted to you.
